Crispy Baked Apples
INGREDIENTS
4 apples (variety of your choice)
2 tablespoons melted butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg (optional)
1/4 cup rolled oats
2 tablespoons chopped nuts (optional)
Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Preparing the Apples: Wash and dry the apples. Core and remove the seeds using an apple corer or a sharp knife, without piercing the bottom of the apple.
Preparing the Filling: In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), and rolled oats. Add the chopped nuts if you wish to add some crunch.
Stuffing the Apples: Place the apples in a baking dish. Fill each apple with the sugar and spice mixture.
Baking: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are tender but not too mushy.
Serving: Remove the apples from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. You can enjoy them as they are or serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an even more indulgent dessert.
